West Somerset Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment (SHLAA) - Call for Sites

The first stage in the identification of sufficient land for housing within the West Somerset Local Planning Authority area to meet the South West RSS requirement of 2,500 dwellings for the period 2006 � 2026 and ensure there is a minimum five year supply of land readily available for development.

Land and/or buildings nominated in this way will be assessed as to its suitability for development in order to meet the Housing Requirement for West Somerset to 2026 set out in the Regional Spatial Strategy (RSS). Also, to ensure that there is sufficient land readily available for development in the Local Planning Authority to meet the national requirement to maintain a minimum five year land supply as set out in national planning guidance (PPS 3: Housing).
